HEUMATOLOGY

Who is pelotherapy designed for ?

The Dax therapy is for people (regardless of age) suffering from a disorder of the locomotor system: problems with the bones, joints, capsular or muscular disorders, or neurological complications (sciatica). Pelotherapy also has excellent pre- or post-operative and post-traumatic effects.

How does peloid work ?

Scientifically prepared and tested, peloid is a relaxant and analgesic, with both physical and biochemical action. The physical effect is due to the mud's properties (plasticity, adhesion and heat), which almost immediately encourage contracted muscles to relax. The biochemical effect is due to the heat which softens the skin, helping active elements in the peloid to penetrate it.

What effects does peloid have ?

Shortly after pelotherapy, patients note improved mobility, a significant decrease, or even absence of pain, improved well-being and lower medicine consumption. Effects of the therapy can be felt for one year or longer. Regular treatments are also a factor in prolonging the effects.

The composition of Dax's hyperthermal waters

Dax's hyperthermal waters contain calcium sulfate (390 mg/liter), sodium chloride (234 mg/liter) and magnesium sulfate (126 mg/liter).

The use of Dax's thermal waters

Combined with peloid, hyperthermal water is the base for all hydrotherapy treatments. It is used in the physical therapy pools and is consumed for its diuretic properties and effect on sweating. The combination of peloid and hyperthermal water is what makes the therapy so effective.
